Sunday’s Children are Kaylee, Christian, and Nicholas

Hi! We are Nicholas and Christian and Kaylee. We are active and friendly.

Nicholas, 14, the eldest of these siblings, is friendly and has a good sense of humor. He likes sports and is a good athlete and a good football player. In school, he benefits from an Individualized Education Program that helps him with speech and language development.

Christian, 12, is funny and friendly. He likes riding his bike and his electric scooter, and like his brother, he enjoys playing sports. Drama is another of his interests. Christian likes school and works with an IEP for reading comprehension and fluency.

Kaylee, 10, likes playing outdoors and riding her bike, but she also likes playing with dolls. She likes being in control and can exhibit attention-seeking behaviors. Once she becomes upset, it can be a struggle for her to calm down. She has no known educational or intellectual needs.

All the siblings participate actively in individual therapy.

Nicholas, Christian, and Kaylee would do best in a two-parent home with no other children. The boys respond well to a structured environment and to rules and set limits.

Their social worker is hoping for a family that will welcome all three children; if they are separated, the ideal families would commit to keeping the siblings in regular contact.

The sister and brothers’ special wish is to find a family that will keep them together.

A special mid-August adoption party

Save the date for an adoption party on Sunday, Aug. 19, at Ironstone Farm in Andovoer.

This event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. is tailored for homestudied families interested in adopting children with intellectual and/or physical special needs. Ironstone Farm is a therapeutic horseback riding facility, and families and children can spend the day riding and participating in arts and crafts activities. Families can hear from a panel of adoptive parents experienced in special needs adoption, and from service providers who can support a family after adoption. Lunch will be provided.

To learn more about Nicholas, Christian, and Kaylee, or to RSVP to the adoption party, call the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE) at 617-54-ADOPT (617-542-3678) or visit The sooner you call, the sooner a waiting child will have “a permanent place to call home.’’
