Man fatally stabbed near Dudley MBTA bus stop in Roxbury; fifth slaying in four days in Boston

A 25-year-old man has died after being stabbed this afternoon near 65 Warren St. in Roxbury, Boston police said.

The stabbing, which was the fifth homicide in four days in Boston, occured near the Dudley MBTA bus stop, but did not occur on the bus, according to MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo.

“Words were exchanged on a bus, but the incident occurred after the parties had left the bus,’’ Pesaturo said.

Homicide detectives and prosecutors could be seen at the scene late this afternoon.

Steven Turner, 43, said he had tended to the victim.

“It was nasty. He was slashed up bad,’’ he said.

He said the victim was talking but he lost a lot of blood. The victim told him, “Give me some help. I’m getting weak. I’m losing it,’’ he said.

“This is sick. You can’t even walk the streets anymore,’’ Turner said.

Boston police said they were investigating and asked anyone with information to call homicide detectives or text or call the department’s anonymous tip numbers.

Boston has seen an outbreak of violence in the past few days. Three women were fatally shot and one was wounded in a shooting Sunday in Dorchester. Also Sunday, one man was fatally shot and three were wounded, in a separate incident in Roslindale.
