Every city and town has its boosters. With each new Top 10 list, communities west of Boston gain more statewide and national recognition. But do the rankings get it right?

RateBeer, an independent website that compiles information for craft beer enthusiasts around the world, recently ranked Julio’s Liquors of Westborough as one of this year’s best beer retailers in the world. Julio’s was the only retailer from Mass. on the list, and ranked seventh in the US as a whole.
If you want a burger, drive to Strip-T’s, which has some of the best burgers around, according to Richard Chudy, the Boston Burger Blogger. Still not convinced? Strip-T’s chef, Tim Maslow (left, with dad, Paul), came in as Boston magazine’s best up-and-coming chef this year, too.
For vegetarians, Urbanspoon reviewers have you covered: Brookline’s Khao Sarn apparently has the best vegetarian cuisine in Metrowest. Brookline is also home to Cutty’s (left), whose selection of breads, meats, and fixings make it the best place for sandwiches, according to Boston magazine.
