North End’s Columbus Park lights up

The Friends of Christopher Columbus Park held the annual Holiday Trellis Lighting on Monday, Nov. 19 in the North End park.

The lighting is a North End holiday tradition.

It included performances by teachers and students from the North End Music and Performing Arts Center, refreshments provided by Starbucks and the Marriott Long Wharf, and a special surprise guest- Santa.

Representative Aaron Michlewitz, Chief of City Services City of Boston Michael Galvin, President of Friends of Christopher Columbus Park Joanne Hayes-Rines, Santa, and Boston Parks Commissioner Toni Pollak attended the lighting.

The lights will remain throughout the holiday season.
