Mark Wahlberg tell Tie Domi: ‘Put up your dukes’

Former Dorchester juvie Mark Wahlberg apparently still has the urge to fight. The actor, who starred as boxer Mickey Ward in “The Fighter,’’ was in Toronto this week raising money for his charity and also promoting his new movie, “Broken City,’’ taunted former NHL tough guy Tie Domi. “Hey, Tie Domi, I’m officially challenging you,’’ Wahlberg said when Domi called the actor on his cellphone during an interview. “Because there’s no hockey, I’m officially challenging you to a fight at the Air Canada Centre. Are you in or not? . . . Don’t duck me.’’ According to The Canadian Press, Wahlberg then gave Domi the number of his hotel room. “We’re gonna have to open the double doors so your head can fit through,’’ said Wahlberg. A short time later, Domi showed up and the pair exchanged faux fisticuffs. Seems they’ve known each other since meeting at a Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch show way back when. Wahlberg, who’s on his way to Boston to shoot a TV pilot inspired by “The Fighter’’ sisters, also used his visit to Toronto to encourage the Canadian government to restore tax breaks for Hollywood film and TV productions. “I’ve made four movies in Toronto and three in Vancouver,’’ he said. “It’s the best working experience, some of the best crew, the best people I’ve ever worked with, and there’s just not enough film being made here.’’
