An electrical problem is being investigated as the cause of a two-alarm fire in a Milton home early today, Milton Deputy Fire Chief Brian Linehan said.
Firefighters responded to the single-family home on Hollingsworth Road just before 7 a.m. to “heavy fire showing on the outside of the structure,’’ Linehan said in a telephone interview.
Firefighters knocked down the blaze, located mostly on the building’s left side, in a half-hour, he said.
The single-family, wood-frame home sustained roughly $100,000 worth of damage, with most of it concentrated on the exterior, Linehan said.
No one was injured in the blaze. Some residents were at home when the fire broke out, but had safely evacuated before firefighters arrived. The home had operating smoke alarms.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
