Firefighters were able to put out a brush fire in the Fenway area of Boston after about 30 minutes this evening, officials said.

The fire took place in a park near 59 Fenway, not far from where the street intersects with Westland Avenue.

Boston police spokesman David Estrada said flames were reported shortly before 7:30 p.m. He was unaware of any street closures.

The fire, which took place in the tall reeds on the bank of the Muddy River, was put out within a half-hour, according to the Boston Fire Department’s official Twitter account. No injuries were reported.
