Dedham elects two new members to library board

Monika Wilkinson and Cecilia T. Emery-Butler were elected to Dedham’s Board of Library Trustees in Saturday’s annual town election, ousting incumbent Michael Chalifoux in a four-way race for two seats on the board.

Wilkinson and Emery-Butler recieved 1,180 and 1,025 votes, respectively, according to Town Clerk Paul Munchbach. Daniel T. Barkowitz finished a close third with 1,016 votes, and Chalifoux received 545.

In the election’s other contested race, Salvatore P. Ledda was reelected to a seat on the Parks and Recreation Commission, defeating Danielle Vlahos 1,686 to 619.

In the uncontested races:

Carmen E. Dello Iacono and Michael L. Butler retained their seats as selectmen;


Kevin D. Doyle was elected to the Board of Assessors;

Rachel McGregor and Mayanne MacDonald Briggs were elected to School Committee;

Sarah Rosenberg-Scott was elected to the Board of Health;

Ralph I. Steeves was elected to the Planning Board;

Ronald B. Slack and Michael E. Malamut were elected to the Commission of the Trust Funds;

John G. Wagner was elected to the Housing Authority.
