Authorities investigating double homicide in Chelsea

CHELSEA – Authorities are investigating the suspicious deaths of a man and a woman whose bodies were found around 3:45 a.m. today inside a Ford LTD sedan, according to Suffolk District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office.

A source said the man and woman had been shot to death.

The victims have been tentatively identified, but their names are being withheld pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, prosecutors said in a statement.

According to a Parker Street resident who asked not to be identified because of the seriousness of the crime, two shots rang out in the neighborhood of multi-family homes and commercial buildings around 3:47 a.m. Seconds later, the person heard someone run past their home.

Police arrived minutes later, the person said.

After the two victims were shot, the Ford LTD they were riding in jumped the curb and slammed into shrubs near a commercial building at 111 Crescent Ave.

Police towed the vehicle from the scene around 9:30 a.m. today.

The cause of death will be determined by the state medical examiner’s office. The suspicious deaths are under investigation by State Police assigned to Conley’s office along with Chelsea police.
