Public relations executive leaves WGBH, joins husband’s agency

Jamie Parker has left WGBH, where she served as vice president of marketing and communications, to join the Boston-based Greenough public relations agency founded by her husband, Phil Greenough. Parker will take the position of president and, according to a company press release, will assume overall responsibility for operations. She will also be charged with developing a new practice area dedicated to serving mission-based nonprofit organizations.

Phil Greenough will retain the title of chief executive officer, but will turn his focus to client engagement and product development.

“Jamie knows how to create compelling storylines that capture an audience’s attention and build affinity for brands, and that’s something needed by every organization from health care to higher education to business and consumer services,’’ said Phil Greenough.

At WGBH Parker led the division that housed the organization’s corporate communications, local and national promotion and marketing, branding and visual communications, advertising and on-air promotion, and audience research. Prior to joining WGBH, Jamie was senior vice president of brand communications at Arnold Worldwide, where she developed new communications platforms based on the agency’s creative campaigns.
