Fowl play suspected as chickens disappear from Southborough farm
Southborough police are searching for a fowl thief who allegedly stole 45 adult chickens from a farm on Fisher Road.
Police responded to the farm around 2 p.m. Sunday after a laborer at the farm noticed the chickens missing from their pen, Soutborough Police Lieutenant Sean James said.
The farmer estimated that the chickens were worth a total of $810, he said.
James said police are investigating the alleged theft but have no leads, adding, “We don’t get many chicken thefts around here.’’
In late March, 200 chicks were allegedly stolen from a farm in Ashburnham.
