Top 10 highest calorie Starbucks drinks
-
Ever wonder how unhealthy those cookie-flavored lattes are for you? We did the research for you and came up with a list of the Starbucks drinks with the most calories. You might want to think twice about getting that grande Java Chip Frap with whipped cream… Let the countdown begin! (And when you’re done, play our calorie game)
Note: We based our list on calorie counts posted on Starbucks.com for grande size drinks (aka medium, 16 fl oz.) served with 2 percent milk and without whipped cream.
-
10. Tazo Green Tea Frappuccino Blended Creme, 310 calories
The 10th worst thing you can drink at Starbucks is this milky, green beverage, and that’s just the tea, milk, and ice. Add in the sweetened whipped cream, and you’re looking at 420 calories.
-
9. Chocolate Cookie Crumble Frappuccino, 310 calories
With the same calorie count as the previously-listed Tazo tea, this liquid treat is a notch higher on our list for its seven grams of fat (versus the tea’s three grams).
-
8. White Chocolate Mocha Frappucino, 320 calories
Starbucks says that this “frap” has a “buttery quality that inspires devotion.” That quality may come from the 64 grams of sugar in a 16 oz. cup.
-
7. Java Chip Frappucino, 320 calories
The Java Chip “Frap” earns a spot just ahead of the White Chocolate Mocha Frappucino because its fat content – six grams – is slightly higher than the mocha’s four grams.
-
6. Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino, 340 calories
We doubt you’re surprised that a drink that has “cookie” in the title is on our list. This drink holds all the flavors you could ever want: milk, cookies, chocolate, and coffee… and the calories to reflect that.
-
5. Peppermint Hot Chocolate, 360 calories
For a drink, this holiday favorite packs in a lot of carbs – 65 grams of them. With 80 extra calories added on when you add whipped cream (which is sort of necessary), this drink may be best consumed once a year.
-
4. Caramel Ribbon Crunch Creme Frappuccino, 390 calories
When your drink has more names than a member of the royal family, you might want to question it. This drink, which includes four kinds of caramel, actually contains no coffee, but the 74 grams of sugar will keep you wide awake regardless.
-
3. White Chocolate Mocha, 400 calories
The highest calorie option of Starbucks’ espresso beverages, this drink also packs in the highest fat content in that category with 11 grams of fat. Save calories by ordering this drink’s cooler counterpart – the Iced White Chocolate Mocha, which has a lower 340 calories.
-
2. White Hot Chocolate, 420 calories
Rivaling its plain chocolate and peppermint versions in calories (290 and 360 calories, respectively), this sugary delight is also high in fat with 12 grams. It makes sense that Starbucks described it as “creamier than creamy.”
-
1. Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino, 430 calories
And at number one, the Caramel Ribbon Crunch Frappuccino trumps all other Starbucks drinks in calorie count and grams of carbs – it has a whopping 87 grams in a grande. Adding that caramel-drizzled whipped cream mountain will push this sugar rush to 570 calories, which is more than the McDonalds Big Mac.
What we’ve learned today: If your coffee’s name is longer than yours, you probably shouldn’t be drinking it. Nowplay our calorie game!
