Black Tie Beach Day at Revere Beach 2013

BostonSOS hosted the Black Tie Beach 2013, where participants flash mobbed Revere Beach in their most elegant wear. They donned tuxes and cocktail dresses to build sand castles, play in the water, and meet other Bostonians this Sunday afternoon.

Melina Mon walked along the shore in her fancy attire. “I think it’s fun,’’ Mon said. “It’s a nice way to meet new people who like to do new things.’’

Betsy Hernandez added shells to the sand castle. She heard about flash mob events from Improv Anywhere in New York, the group who started Black Tie Beach.

Stacy Nguyen played in the sand in her cocktail dress. “It’s nice to come out and not do anything too serious,’’ Nguyen said. “Most people in Boston aren’t from around here, so it’s a great way to find people to go to the beach with.’’
