Man, woman stab each other in Dorchester’s Lower Mills; both expected to survive

A man and a woman stabbed each other during a fight shortly after 11 p.m. Tuesday in Dorchester’s Lower Mills neighborhood, and Boston police are investigating.

The stabbings occurred at 11:11 p.m. in the 2200 block of Dorchester Avenue, police said. Police were called to the scene and found the two victims suffering from serious wounds.

“Preliminary reports indicate that the victims engaged in a confrontation with one another when they suffered their injuries,’’ police said in a statement.

The man was 54 and the woman was 37, according to police.

Both victims were taken to area hospitals and are expected to survive, police said.

No further details were immediately available.
