Scott Brown puts Wrentham home on market

Scott Brown’s Wrentham home is for sale.

With an asking price of $559,900, the four-bedroom Colonial in Wrentham’s Oak Point neighborhood featured an open house on Sunday.

The former Republican senator took a job at the Boston law firm Nixon Peabody after losing his reelection bid in November, but has floated the possibility of running for a New Hampshire US Senate seat next year.

Brown and his wife, Gail, also own a vacation home in Rye, N.H.

His Wrentham residency became part of Brown’s regular-guy political arsenal in his surprise 2010 Senate win, along with his famed barn jacket and pick-up truck. “I’m from Wrentham,’’ Brown said during his victory speech. “And I drive a truck.’’

According to the real estate website Trulia, the 3,020-square-foot home features a living room with a cathedral ceiling and brick fireplace, along with a “soaring’’ two-floor foyer.
