MFA is pretty in pink

Everyone is painting the town pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. That includes the folks at the Museum of Fine Arts, which will be bathed in pink light during October. Not coincidentally, the MFA has a new exhibit, “Think Pink,’’ featuring fashions by designers Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Christian Louboutin, and Oscar de la Renta. (A few of our favorite pieces are the pink suit made for Vogue’s Hamish Bowles, a headpiece designed by fashion photographer Bill Cunningham, and a corset belonging to burlesque beauty Dita Von Teese.) Among those at this week’s opening party were WCVB-TV’s Heather Unruh, Breast Cancer Research Foundation president Myra Biblowit, Brigham and Women’s Hospital president Betsy Nabel, “CityLine’’ host Karen Holmes Ward, and Michelle Finamore, the MFA’s curator of fashion arts.
