A two-alarm fire broke out this morning in the attic of a 2 1/2-story single-family home in West Roxbury, displacing a family of three, fire officials said.

The blaze broke out at about 9:35 a.m. at 112 Beech St. and caused roughly $150,000 of damage. The second floor and the attic received the most fire damage, but the entire residence suffered extensive water damage, said fire department spokesman Steve MacDonald.

“Firefighters spent 20 minutes to get the heavy fire out and another 20 minutes checking for hot spots,’’ said MacDonald.

Two adults and a teenager were displaced by the fire, and will be staying with family and friends until their home is again habitable, he said.

Nobody was home at the time of the fire, and no injuries were reported, he said.
