Matt Light hosts an April Fool’s night of comedy

spent his Tuesday night at Showcase Live hosting “Fool’s Night Out,’’ a comedy benefit for his foundation. The lineup of comedians included Steve Sweeney
, Artie Januario
, Tony V
, Kelly McFarland
, and Dave Russo
. The audience also got to see a 2003 video of Light and his then-Patriots pals (including Tom Brady
) performing a song called “Mustache Men.’’ (Light originally performed the comedy tune on WAAF back in the day.) About $40,000 was raised during the night to support mentoring at-risk youth. One of the guests at the sold-out event paid $10,000 for Light to have his big, bushy beard shaved on stage. “I’ve been growing it out since October, but hey, it’s worth it for the kids,’’ he said.
