2014 MTV Movie Awards scenes

Dorchester-bred actor Mark Wahlberg was presented with the MTV Generation Award on Sunday night at the MTV Movie Awards. During his profanity-laden acceptance speech (we lost track of how many times he cursed), he said was cool with the fact that it meant he was getting old and that he had a “great run.’’

Fellow Hollywood hunk Channing Tatum took home the Trailblazer Award and noted that 10 years ago he was sitting at home watching the show just like everyone else.

Lupita Nyong’o, right, looked on after presenting Jared Leto with the award for best on screen transformation (“Dallas Buyers Club’’). Leto got a little deep during his speech, finishing with “Love who you want to love, live how you want to live, and never let anyone stop you from turning your dreams into reality.’’

The serious Leto disappeared minutes later when he asked for a ride back to Coachella, offering an extra ticket and cuddle time to any takers. He was on stage to present the award for best villain (which went to Mila Kunis).

The men of “Neighbors,’’ Dave Franco, second from left, Seth Rogen, third from right, and Zac Efron, second from right, brought up audience members for kisses before presenting best kiss. Franco and Efron exchanged smooches with what looked like models, but Rogen laid one on his mom (or so it seemed).

The award for best kiss went to Will Poulter, center, Jennifer Aniston, and Emma Roberts for “We’re the Millers.’’ Poulter accepted the award on their behalf.

Surprise — the award went to Zac Efron for his role in “That Awkward Moment.’’

Rita Ora pleaded with Zac Efron to take his shirt off before bombarding him and ripping off his shirt — which happened to be fastened with snaps. Coincidence? We think not.

And photographers capture every moment of the onstage strip down.

Zac Efron saluted the audience after accepting the award for best shirtless performance (and having his shirt yanked off by Rita Ora).

Not to be outshined, MTV Movie Awards host Conan O’Brien gave his own shirtless performance.

“The Wolf of Wall Street’’ actor Jonah Hill accepted the award for best comedic performance. He also presented Channing Tatum with the Trailblazer Award later in the show.

“Parks and Recreation’’ actor Chris Pratt took the stage to remind viewers to vote for movie of the year.

Conan O’Brien kicked off the 22d annual MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night with a challenge to gain 50 celebrity cameos for his opening segment, a shtick with Will Arnett that merged two categories, best fight and best kiss, and a musical number about hating musical numbers in big awards shows.

Actress Ellen Page introduced a clip of her new film “X-Men: Days of Future Past,’’ which hits theaters May 23.

Ellie Goulding performed “Fall Into the Sky’’ with Zedd.

Shailene Woodley, winner of the favorite character award for Tris in “Divergent,’’ posed in the press room.
