It was 35 below zero at the Mt. Washington Observatory this morning

And a 'bone-chilling' 86 below with wind chill.

Temperatures dipped into the single-digits in Boston on Friday morning, but that was nothing compared with what was recorded at the Mount Washington Observatory.

On Facebook, the observatory said it registered 35 below zero at the summit—the coldest temperature recorded there this early in the season since December 1993.

The frigid temperature, compounded by the 70 mph winds at the summit, dropped the cold to a “bone-chilling” 86 below zero, according to the observatory.
