Here’s a thought to help you battle the Monday blues: It might hit 70 degrees this week.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures in the Boston area will approach 70 on Wednesday.
“To put this in perspective, the normal high for this time of year in Boston is 43,’’ said Kimberly Buttrick, meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Taunton.
It’s unusual, but not unheard of, to see temperatures hit 70 this time of year, said Buttrick. The record high for Boston on March 9 was 72 degrees in 2000.
Don’t let this week’s unseasonably warm temperatures fool you, Buttrick warned. Morning lows could drop down to freezing all the way into May, she said.
“Don’t put the potted plants out just yet,’’ she said.
