As a cold front passes offshore Friday, it will usher in seasonably chilly air for the upcoming weekend. Any clouds or a lingering shower early Friday morning will vanish and look for plenty of sunshine during the afternoon as temperatures approach 50.

High pressure will build into the area the rest of the weekend bringing us a blend of clouds and sunshine. Temperatures will be within a few degrees of seasonal averages, and there’s no chance of any precipitation.

The weather both Saturday and Sunday will be quite similar. There might be a couple of more clouds on Sunday and temperatures could be 2 degrees milder, but overall you won’t notice much of a difference between the two days.

The moon is full Sunday evening, and, with generally clear skies, it should be a nice one to take some pictures or just watch it come up over the horizon. This month’s moon is called the full “cold Moon.”

Across Northern New England there was some light snow overnight, and this sets up a good ski weekend. Temperatures will be just above freezing in the higher elevations both Saturday and Sunday. Call ahead to your favorite area to make sure they are open.

Much colder weather is coming about a week from now, as below normal temperatures arrive for the second week of the month.
