Maps: Here are the forecasts for Tuesday’s rain and snow in Massachusetts
Be careful on the roads today.
If you’re hitting the roads Tuesday morning, be advised: It may be a bit slick out there, especially farther inland.
“Any light snow near and along the coast will quickly change to all rain,” the National Weather Service said.
The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for much of southern New England away from the coast from 4 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday. Light snow will transition to freezing rain in northern Connecticut, from northwest Rhode Island to Metro West Boston, and in western Massachusetts, forecasters said.
Boston is expected to see rain before 2 p.m. with a possible thunderstorm during the afternoon, according to the service’s seven-day forecast. Temperatures should reach the mid-40s during the day before dropping to a low around 25 degrees on Tuesday evening.
New maps released by the service Tuesday morning show little to no snow accumulation, except for in the northwest corner of Massachusetts.
