Think back to April and the first part of May: We had a lot of cloudy weekends featuring a risk of showers. It didn’t rain every weekend, but it was not what many would consider great weather.
These past few weekends, however, are making up for that stretch. We’ve had some wonderful summertime weather, and it looks like that pattern will continue this weekend, too.
If you’re heading to the beach, you’ll notice high tide will come up quite far because we are at a point of astronomically high tides. It also means that there could be minor splash-over during the time of high tide at some of the east-facing beaches, but there won’t be any coastal flooding.
Here’s what to else to expect this weekend:
Friday will be nice.
Friday will feature quite a bit of sunshine and warm temperatures along with low levels of humidity. You can expect temperatures into the low 80s inland, and it will be cooler along the coast.
If you have Friday off (lucky!), it will be a great day to enjoy at the beach, on the golf course, or just hanging out in the yard. If you are working, it will be a nice afternoon to take lunch outside.
Saturday will be nice.
Plan on temperatures in the low-to-mid 80s on Saturday. It will be cooler along the coast, generally in the upper 70s to low 80s. As warmer air arrives Saturday night, there might be a brief shower in a couple of places, but it’s one of those things that I’m putting in the forecast in case it happens, but most of us will not see anything.
Sunday will be hotter and more humid.
Expect a beautiful beach day on Sunday. It will be warmer than Saturday with temperatures getting into the upper 80s, and a few places across the Merrimack Valley may nudge 90 degrees. If you’re heading to the beach, high tide will be around 2 p.m.
Next week is hot and humid, but eventually a cold front will slip through and dry us out again for the second part of the week. There could even be some much-needed rain with that front.
