The region is in for “a bit of a roller coaster temperature ride this week,” according to the National Weather Service.

The week is off to a cool start, but temperatures should rise by Friday and continue that way into the weekend, the service said. While Tuesday’s high is just 41 degrees, the service predicts that Friday could hit 60 degrees.

Barry Burbank, a meteorologist with WBZ, commented that wind direction could affect the forecasted warmer temperatures for Friday through next weekend.

Burbank also said he doesn’t foresee any more snow through the end of the month — or for the rest of the season — though he cautioned that “April CAN be fickle.”

WHDH meteorologist Chris Lambert said there will be “a lot of sunshine” Tuesday through Thursday.

City Fitzgibbon, a meteorologist with WCVB, said it’s a “mainly dry week ahead.”
