We are looking at more rain this weekend.

So far this month, there have been 17 days with measurable precipitation. The record for the most number of such days in any month is 19. The record was set in April 1912, and it’s been matched before, most recently in December 2007 and May 2005. The April record has stood for over 100 years, but it is about to be broken.

We are looking at more rain this weekend, including Friday, and there’s probably more rain coming Tuesday.

Here’s your complete weekend weather forecast.

Friday brings clouds and a few showers.

The theme today is for a lot of clouds and at times a few showers — maybe even a quick downpour — and a little bit of drizzle. But we will see a lot of dry hours as well. I’m not expecting the bulk of the rain in the next 24 hours to fall until Friday night. That’s when an area of steady showers moves through, and when we will see the majority of the rainfall accumulation. It’s going to be cool with temperatures only in the 50s.

Saturday will feel chilly.

Once again, all those little league games are going to be up against wet fields and a few showers early Saturday morning. Rainfall will be minimal, but there will be a lot of clouds, and the winds will increase and become quite gusty from the west in the afternoon.

This is going to be one of our cooler days with temperatures staying in the 50s all afternoon. If the temperature doesn’t reach 60, it will be the first weekend day we haven’t hit that milestone since the end of March. In other words, it’s been pretty warm so far this spring, but this weekend is not going to follow that trend.

Sunday starts off sunny.

The best part of Sunday is going to be the morning when we will see some sunshine. Another weather system is going to approach from the west pretty fast. That means skies cloud up, and there’s a chance for more showers for the second part of the day. This is orthodox Easter weekend and if you are doing any outdoor cooking for that holiday, I recommend getting it done early if possible, as the rain can hamper things in the afternoon. Temperatures will be a bit cooler than the previous two days.

A quick look at early next week:

Monday looks great with plenty of sunshine and seasonable temperatures. However, we’re not going to string together a lot of those days as I expect more showers by Tuesday. Temperatures also continue to look cooler than average.
