Following a scorching heat wave over the weekend, this week kicks off with wet, windy weather. According to the National Weather Service, the cold front that brought Monday’s stormy weather will hug or move just off the coast on Tuesday. Between one and two inches of rain is possible, but that number could be up to three inches locally, putting those areas at risk of flooding. The heaviest rain is expected in southern Rhode Island and southeastern Massachusetts, where there is also potential of the rain mixing with potent winds. While areas such as Cape Cod could see evening showers, Tuesday evening should remain predominantly dry.
