‘Chances of showers & thunderstorms will continue through midweek’: Here’s Boston’s week in weather

A heat advisory is set until 8 p.m. Tuesday, forecasters said.

Boston is in for another hot and humid week, with the possibility of thunderstorms early in the week, according to local forecasters.

But conditions may become more comfortable toward the weekend.

“Chances of showers & thunderstorms will continue through midweek as heat & humidity build,” the National Weather Service said. “But more seasonable temperatures and comfortable conditions are in the forecast by late week into the weekend.”

Like Monday, Tuesday is supposed to reach into the 90s, according to the service. A heat advisory is in place until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The high for Wednesday is 87 degrees, and then highs drop to the mid-80s for the rest of the week.

“Today is day 2 of our (likely) second heatwave of July and also of 2019,” Josh Wurster, a meteorologist with 7 News, said on Monday. “Looks like we’ll have 3 days hit 90° or more and possibly even 4.”

There’s a chance for some scattered thunderstorms or showers Wednesday into Thursday, according to the service. However, Thursday should be dry. Heat and humidity may reemerge early next week, and with that more chances for rain and thunderstorms.
