Maps: The wind gusts, rainfall to expect from this week’s storm

Boston is under a wind advisory starting at midnight.

A “powerful coastal storm,” which may become a “bomb cyclone,” is set to unleash its fury on Massachusetts Wednesday night into Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

Boston is expected to see 1.5 to 2 inches of rain with maximum wind gusts of 51 mph, the service said. Cape Cod and the Islands are forecast to have the strongest gusts, with winds predicted to near 60 mph.

Boston is under a wind advisory from midnight until 6 p.m. Thursday, according to the service.
