Accumulating snow will make a rare appearance in parts of the Boston area on Monday, but it won’t stick around long.

Monday begins cool and cloudy with temperatures in the low to mid-30s during the day. Precipitation moves in from the west during the afternoon. There will be a period of snow north and west of Boston before it changes over to rain. An inch or two is possible before the switch. The South Shore and Cape Cod will likely see mostly rain.
