Here’s what to expect from Monday’s weather forecast

Rain with potentially damaging wind gusts.

Lane Turner/Globe Staff

The work week starts off with some stormy and potentially damaging weather across the Boston region.

Rain will arrive during the day and is expected to be heavy at times, with the possibility for thunderstorms and localized flooding, but the big story will be the wind. A high wind watch is in effect Monday afternoon and evening with the potential for wind gusts up to 60 miles per hour, according to the National Weather Service.

The rain and wind will taper off overnight ahead of a dry day on Tuesday.
